Our lovely nursery
The best way to decide if Park School Nursery is the right place for your child is to come and visit us. We would love to show you around our Nursery and the fantastic School resources we have access to.
Please contact Miss Hallen, our Admissions and Operations Manager, who will be delighted to arrange your visit.
Overview of fees
Fees have been structured so that there are no hidden costs – all meals and activities, such as sensory, music, dance sport drama and cookery, are included within the fees published.
We are open 8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday–Friday for 51 weeks of the year. Each day is split into two sessions: 8.00am to 1.00pm and 1.00pm to 6.00pm. Children can attend either or both sessions. We are closed only for occasional INSET days, Bank Holidays and the week in which Christmas falls.
Minimum session policy
The number of sessions a child attends is flexible; however, we have a minimum session policy, meaning your child is required to attend for at least four sessions per week. One session is equivalent to half a day. This will help your child to settle in well and to establish a sense of belonging in the nursery setting. It will also allow children to integrate well with their peers, understand the daily routine and have continuity in their learning and development.
Settling in sessions
Before your child starts at Park School Nursery, we will invite you and your child to attend for a minimum of two settling in sessions. This is an opportunity for you and your child to get to know your allocated nursery practitioner and for them to get to know you and your child, as well as the other team members and children at the nursery. This also gives you the opportunity to leave your child for short periods of time before building up to a full session. We ask you to help us gather as much information about your child as we can during these sessions.
Subject to availability, additional sessions and flexible days can be arranged with notice.
There is a non-refundable registration fee of £75.00, payable at the time of registering your interest in a place for your child.
There is a deposit payable upon acceptance of a place of £350.00. The deposit is returned by the end of the month following that in which your child leaves the nursery.
Meals and snacks
Fees include snacks, drinks, breakfast, two course lunch and supper.
We offer breakfast if your child is with us between 8.00 and 8.30am.
Morning snack is available from 9.30am – children are given a choice of milk or water and a snack, usually fruit and crackers. Lunchtime is at 11.45am – a hot meal and a pudding, freshly prepared by the School Chef. A weekly menu is displayed in the Nursery for your information. Afternoon tea is served at 4.00pm, consisting of sandwiches or a lighter meal followed by fruit and/or yoghurt. Children have access to fresh drinking water throughout the day.
Fees and session times
Morning session – £29.50
Afternoon session – £29.50
Full day – £59
Help with childcare costs - Early Education Funding
Early Education Funding (EEF) is available for all children from the term beginning after a child’s 3rd birthday until the term in which a child turns five. Some two-year-olds may also be eligible for EEF, please speak to a Mrs Rowden for details.
These sessions are subject to eligibility and availability and for 51 weeks per year. We ‘stretch’ the 15 hours per week ‘term time only’ funding to cover the full year at 11 hours per week.
If you are eligible for 30 hour funding we this equates to 22 hours per week “stretched” over the full year, and we have a minimum session requirement of five sessions where 30 hour funding is claimed.
Parents are asked to pay for additional hours attended over and above the funded hours at a rate based on the session, not an hourly rate. We only provide Nursery care on a session basis, not an hourly basis. The additional charge to parents covers non-funded hours, as well as food and extra-curricular activities within the advertised session rate.
We are a registered provider with several childcare voucher companies. If you are enrolled in a voucher scheme through your employer please contact our Finance team for details of how to nominate Park for your payments.
We are a registered provider for the government tax-free childcare scheme.
